holdouttrout: not your ordinary fish (Default)
Do you ever look at your journal calendar and think, "Oh, it's been way too long since I posted. I should fix that."

But then, because you feel so GUILTY about the whole thing, you just can't bring yourself to write anything breezy and quick, because you feel like you have to make up for the fact that you haven't posted since October.

Just me?

What about thinking about the last time you exercised and realizing it was several weeks ago and yes, you did sign up for a 5K which is this Sunday?

Just me.

(But I did win NaNo this year! I am pretty sure all my words sucked, but that's okay, because I wrote 50,000 sucky words, which is 50,000 more than I thought I'd manage to write this year.)

For the first time in my life, I have successfully run one mile non-stop without any walking breaks.

IT WAS GLORIOUS.

To celebrate I walked another four miles and then had a Cinnabon.

I have also made a decent dent in my to-do list, although tomorrow must also be given over to to-dos, as I let many pile up--probably had something to do with all the Buffy I've been watching recently.

Oops.

(A MILE. ALL AT ONCE. ME!)

(I didn't time it, but I'm sure it was slow.)

(That's TOTALLY OKAY.)

Thank you, XKCD. My life was not as fun before I saw this and heard the original. Of course, I ALSO have it stuck in my head.

This weekend, I took an ill-advised walk in 90-degree weather, went to garage sales, cleaned my bike-shaped object, read many Pern books, swam for the first time in the apartment pool, turned off my computer because I was too hot, caught a cold (AGAIN!), and slept badly.

It was a mixed bag this weekend.

HOWEVER! I did start on my [livejournal.com profile] gateverse_remix story. At least, I have about 600 words. And a TITLE. And a music mix.

I also did my recap for Seth, which goes live tomorrow! So much potential for inappropriate secks, and none in the episode! Sometimes, SG-1 *does* disappoint. ;-) However, there are many episode TAGS that are made of win, and might possibly be almost-canon in my opinion. I managed to keep the recap gen, though.

Short week this week, and fireworks at the end!

ETA: I forgot to mention that I totally rocked this week's [livejournal.com profile] ljdq with two quotes and a mention! Woot! You can find my answers here, if you're curious.

Oh, and does anyone know anything about lips? Specifically, why I keep getting rough patches on them when I use enough chapstick to supply an army? Could my favorite, beautiful, wonderful chapstick be CAUSING this? HELP!
