Fine peeves, the both of them.

My peeve for the day? I finally got all the figures put in for my state and federal returns in Turbo Tax. It does its little error check and review and brings up a problem. The EIN for one of my child care providers is missing a digit. I look it up. I enter it. Problem solved. I go on my merry way. I get to the point where I get to e-file. All the screens go by without problems. I get to the press-this-button-and-you-will-commit-e-filing-and-be-unable-to-take-it-back-EVER screen. I hold my breath for a moment, and then take the plunge. Only to be told that I cannot e-file until I fix the EIN. The EIN is correct. I try again. No luck. I try taking out the number that had been missing and putting it back in. No luck. I try doing the same in the slot in the actual IRS form. No luck. I try erasing the number in the form and re-entering it. No luck. I try the same tactic in the slot up above. Finally, it says there are no errors. It allows me to e-file.

Now, I realize that if this is what I think is a problem, then my life is pretty sweet, but---

Programs that due to a bug cause actually add to the stress of doing taxes? My choice for peeve du jour.
