Things both important and/or silly

Thing the first (Most Important): Haiti needs help after last night's devastating earthquake. CNN has a list of organizations to donate to. If you have a bunch of coins sitting around, Coinstar allows you to donate to the Red Cross directly from the machine.

Thing the second (much less important but fun): I have now made nine hula hoops. They all still need to be decorated, but they have helped me gain a little bit of skill in the whole learning how to hula hoop process. Much easier than the store-bought ones, and not very difficult (or expensive) to make. Watching other people attempt to hoop has been a huge source of amusement for me in the past two weeks.

Thing the third: When did I find time to watch TV again? This week I have tonight free, maybe. And Friday. I'm pretty sure. Hopefully I'll get to watch some more Fringe.

Thing the fourth: I can't remember. I know I had one. Maybe it'll come back to me if I hit post.

Jeez! Haiti has earthquakes, too? It isn't bad enough they have evil dictators, and every other hurricane bulldozes right through there?

There but for the grace of God, I guess...

Haven't checked the news or had the tv on yet, till now. Those poor people. My prayers are with them.

Yeah. I don't watch a lot of news, either--found out this morning from twitter.

They have instructions linked on hooping.org. Basically, you take poly pipe and connect it together. SO much easier than you'd think, and the ratcheting pipe cutter is hilariously fun to use. I'm more nervous about trying to tape them, honestly, because I want them to be pretty, darn it! :-)
