First things first: Season Three of West Wing. Total love.
Second: My iPod Touch is not being picked up by my computer. At all. So I thought maybe I'd try updating my iPod to the new OS, only I wanted to update iTunes first, only I never upgraded to Leopard, let alone Snow Leopard. So... I ordered Snow Leopard, to update iTunes, to update my iPod, to hopefully connect my iPod to my computer.
Mind you, this likely will not solve my problem, I think. BAH. (It needs to be done anyway.) Anybody have any other ideas? (And yes, I tried restarting both my computer and my iTouch.)

2. The port on your computer. Try another port, or better yet, another computer. You don't need to actually sync, just get that chirp sound you hear when it's charging.
3. The connector on your iPod. This would be the worst to go, but if the above two fail, and you can get another iPod device to connect to your computer with your cable, check your warranty or see your friendly neighborhood Apple store.
*fingers crossed for cable-fail*

It's really bizarre.

Date: 2010-09-20 02:21 pm (UTC)From:The other things I found is here. Apparently, the iPod only uses two pins in the connector for charging, the rest are used to data transfer. So it is possible that you are able to charge, but if there is a broken pin (or a solder point somewhere inside the device and out of sight), it might not be communicating with your computer, even though it's getting power. :(
