holdouttrout: not your ordinary fish (Helen_smile)
This isn't a real report of my recent trip to London, but for now it'll have to suffice to say that it was wonderful. Oxford is SO pretty and charming, London has WAY too much to do for being there only three days, and AT5 was fabulous. Gotta love the power of the fangirls.

Hero II: Broken Arrow
I actually think the twist of the bad guys knocking Kate out right away is pretty funny--and that the story arc for Walter works. That being said, I wish we could have had more badass super(villain?) Kate.

Animus:
Henry, I'm sorta meh on your girlfriend... and the weird backstory for the HAPs. Haps? HOWEVER, you and Will touring the pubs will never not be hilarious. And Declan! I love him.
As for Nikola and Helen, I just love their single-minded "Whoa, this is a cool puzzle!" reaction to the holographic city. Total geeks. *loves* Yes to everything about them in this ep--this was the vampire blood shield ep and the room invasion ep and the bathing ep, right? I kinda sorta ship them in a "never gonna happen" way. You know, where you like the fic and the vids and the snark and the little moments, but you don't actually want them to have a real relationship? Yeah.

Breach:
Oh, Helen. Totally badass. I want one. Oh, and there was something about this guy named Adam, and how he's not dead.

For King & Country:
The not-dead Adam knows how to work the map, and he'll die if they don't get to the uber-cool City, but can they really trust him? Obvious show is obvious.
Anyway, there's a lot of awesome The Five stuff in here, with really awesome dynamics between ALL of them, and a couple of different viewpoints about how much they tried/didn't try to save Adam's daughter, and there's finding Druitt in Cambodia, who looks much the worse for wear, even for him. Aw. (Am I really aw-ing Jack the Ripper? (Okay, maybe only ironically?)) Oh, and Helen's dying. Yeah. Because that's going to happen. And Will's in charge. Hah hah hah hah hah.

Vigilante:
Not-dead-yet Adam tells them about the Keystone and sets off the Quest for the Mongolian Keystone. Or rather, the Keystone that is theoretically located in Mongolia, but is actually not in the British Museum. I am probably not remembering that exactly right. Mostly, I was too busy being amused at John and Helen. There was also an amazing laughing FBI agent who somehow manages to catch on to Big Guy being a good guy, even though I'm not sure that actually makes sense from her viewpoint. You know, I found myself thinking she looked untrustworthy, and then I realized I was annoyed because she kept laughing when she was nervous, but the thing was that I TOTALLY DO THAT. Ahem. Anyway, I'm guessing she'll show back up sometime.

The Hollow Men:
So the thing I didn't catch or remember watching through the first time was that Adam lures Druitt into a trap. Yeah, I just missed that whole line. I don't know. Um. I don't really have a lot more to say except to reiterate Helen's awesomeness and laugh about the "cliffhanger." At AT5, Amanda did a hilarious bit where she talked about that death scene, saying that it wasn't "Zap! You're dead!" but "Zaaaaaaaap! Zap! Zappitty Zap Zap Zaaaaaap!" Which is scarily and hilariously accurate. :-)

Oh, me too. She was such fun! And I'm curious about her reaction, afterwards - she seemed more shocky than I'd expected. I guess it wasn't entirely her, she had the head injury, etc... Shame she didn't get to play with it when she was in her right mind.

I thought the FBI lady seemed a bit untrustworthy, too. I guess because shows tend to introduce seemingly nice characters like that only to reveal - ta-dah! - they have a hidden agenda, invariably evil. I felt Will told her too much, too soon - the Sanctuary is supposed to be a big secret, after all, known only to top government officials, and various abnormals, and the odd do-gooding priest, and people who've noticed strange goings-on down near the docks, and lots of famous people that Helen met over her 160 years, and... Actually, on second thoughts, go ahead and tell her all about it, Will.
