Oh, definitely. I went back to the books before the show came out because I wanted to be up to speed. I had read the first four or five many years ago, and then read the last four when they were finished, but I had skipped a bunch in the middle.
I cannot said I have read the entire series -- I think I skipped at least three books -- but I did want to know what was up for myself.
