Okay, so I have to say that at least one of the pairings was completely not fair, that being Joe Woodard/Mandie Shaw. That's not particularly fair because I don't know how many people outside the conservative Christian circle have actually read the Mandie Books. This is a highly subjective list, seeing as it was taken entirely from a friend's bookshelf--it was her party, after all. Perhaps you can discuss in the comments.

I have to say that I was very amused by some of the crack pairings some of you came up with.

Here are some questions you had:

1. Dude. Did You guys leave off Wesley and Buttercup?
*checks list* Apparently. That *is* quite the travesty.

2. When you give us the answers, will you also tell us what story they are from?
*grins*

And yes, context *is* everything. Someone remarked about Boaz and Ruth taking them a while, and I did the SAME thing, where I was like, "Who is Boaz? Which Ruth--OH!" Not like I read that book of the Bible (along with Esther) entirely too much when I was a kid and forced to sit in church without a Mandie book. *grins*

So did you have fun?

I'm very proud - there's only one pairing I missed from a book that I'd actually read. (Although, that's kind of shameful, since I got the other pairing from that book, and I'd re-read it recently!)

yeah, if I had remembered all of the parings from books I have read, i would have gotten about 4 more (including the mandie one). I'm not ashamed to not know pairings when I haven't read the book, but when i have ::facepalm:: Especially the diana barry one and the hermione (not granger) one.

It was fun, but I knew I only knew half of them. Once I guessed the half I knew I randomly placed letters by numbers lol.

I told you I was no good at names. Sigh. Zorro's girlfriend's name was Lolita? Seriously?

Fun quiz.

Wesley and Buttercup 4eva, foo. What was M thinking, not having TPB on her shelf ... le sigh.

Totally fun!

And I *knew* I messed up on those March girls.

Hee hee. A fairer quiz would require naming the source to weed out the guessing - because my score should totally have been a few points lower. But yes, fun!

Ahhh - a lot of the ones I didn't get were ones I wasn't going to get. Although I'm annoyed I didn't get the Phantom of the Opera ones.

Yay, fun!

Some of these were tough! And I didn't know a couple that are CLASSICS OMG. :-D

(but I knew all the Harry Potter ones...)

The Mandie one threw me for a few minutes...I couldn't even remember who Diana was.

(And I thought the two hermiones MUST have been a mistake, too.)

I actually was going through your answers, and thinking, "Wow, it's almost like she knows EXACTLY half of these..." just because it was so even...

At least I managed to figure out why I was counting wrong...otherwise you would have had like...seven. *facepalm*

It's POSSIBLE that the name of Zorro's long-time girlfriend is up for debate, or that he had another girlfriend in a different book. I'm not entirely sure, myself.

I'm so glad people played and enjoyed.

The Phantom one took me entirely too long to realize they'd listed PHANTOM as his last name.

(this game just shows how much of a shipper I am)

*giggle* Yup. When I saw the number of Harry Potter and Austen-based pairings, I knew I'd do halfway decent at least!

Date: 2008-04-23 11:15 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] seldear.livejournal.com
Dude. I got them all???

HEE!

Some of them were educated guesses. I was 90% certain of the pairs for Last of the Mohicans, Nancy Drew, Zorro, and Tom Sawyer, but since I'd never read them (or read them a looooong time ago) I wasn't 100%.

The only one I didn't know at all was The "Mandie" books. But once I got all the others, they just slipped into place.

WAHEY!

Yeah. The Mandie ones are obscure to say the least. *g*

You did completely awesome, yo. ;-)

I nearly put down all the books, too. Then I thought that would just be showing off. *g*

Well, I don't feel so bad! All the ones I didn't get I pretty much have never read (or even heard of) anyway! There is I think only one I didn't get that I think I ought to have.

I feel like I ought to make my own list from my own fave reading list! Maybe I will this weekend.

Nice one! Thanks it was fun!

Weren't they kind of patronizing with, wossname, Uncle Ned?

I'm sure it was. I don't *remember* it being patronizing--I was awfully young, and I remember there being quite a lot of good stuff in it--even with the Native American themes that would more than likely offend me now. Of course, I also don't remember realizing that people slept around on Star Trek almost every week.
