abyssinia4077 is awesome, and because I commented first on her post, I am obligated by internet LAW to post this:

b) Associate you with something - fandom, a song, a colour, a photo, etc.
c) Tell you something I like about you.
d) Tell you a memory I have of you.
e) Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.

Date: 2008-05-01 09:43 pm (UTC)From:b) The color I always associate with you is blue, but most of all, your default icon. For obvious reasons.
c) I like your thoughtfulness and your ability to bring the real world into fandom. Your news posts always interest me, and often make me angrier at the stupid people in the real world, but you're always on-target.
d) I will forever remember the expression you wore after I yelled Abyssis' name down the stairway at you guys. *laughs* Or maybe the "snuggle bunny" incident.
e) Are you ever going to take pole-dancing classes?
f) I love this new coloring one. It's hilarious! But the furries one is pretty dang awesome.

c) Your icons. Even if they sometimes creep me out, they're somehow very beautiful.
d) hmmm...I remember you listing all your pairings out. Yikes! I thought I had a lot, and I was oh so very wrong.
e) Is there anything you won't write? Ever?
f) the accident pete one! (I'm a big fan of icons that tell stories)

Oh, goodness. Probably because you wrote an awesome ficlet of some kind. That's how I usually ended up friending people in those days. (B.D.C.) Actually...that hasn't changed much. But I'm absolutely not regretted it ever since then--especially not since you having a space in your room for D*Con was a large part of the reason I even attempted to go. :-)
b) Associate you with something - fandom, a song, a colour, a photo, etc.
I always associate you with Sam and Daniel. Together. Not necessarily in a romantic sense, but in the fun science-y sense. And with science in general. And with awesome squee.
c) Tell you something I like about you.
Your williness to jump in with both feet and make something out of your interests. And your determination to pursue your dreams (aka the Grand Grad School Search). And your cookies.
d) Tell you a memory I have of you.
Too many! How about that time we discussed Jack's prehensile penis--wait. We've done that more than ONCE. Okay. A little scary. *g* And then there was a long involved discussion about god and religion that was incredibly interesting. At least to me.
e) Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
I have no idea what to ask. Hmmm. Okay. If you could bring any character on any show back from the dead, who would it be and why?
f) Tell you my favorite user pic of yours.
I really like the Sam and Daniel kiss one. Or the "Daniel never sees" one. Or the "Sam has too many boys as represented by a fragmented picture one." But the default one...that's just you. :-)

Date: 2008-05-02 02:36 am (UTC)From:As for genre, I like to experiment so I'm open to gen, het, slash, femslash, comedy, angst, action, drama, whatever. So that answer would be no, there's no genre that I definitely won't write.
For fandom, I'm pretty exclusive to sci-fi and fantasy. I plan to make an exception for Scarecrow and Mrs King someday, because that show was special to me, and I have an idea for an Arrested Development fic, so given the right circumstances I won't say absolutely no to any particular type of fandom.
I do know I'd never write for House or Supernatural, because I dislike both shows and the fandoms aren't exactly hurting for fic anyway. But if I know a fandom well enough, and someone were to ask for a short fic for a specific and urgent (the urgent bit's important) reason, I'd probably do it, although there aren't any medical dramas or lawyer shows that I know anywhere near enough to try them, because I avoid those types of shows with great intensity.
The things I actually definitely won't write are icky things like incest as a kink. If the exact circumstance arose where I had reason to write a fic about a character dealing with the aftermath of something unpleasant that's different. But things like incest or statutory rape or non-con as porn? Just. No.
I'm not terribly wild about writing porn for porn's sake anyway. I'm more interested in the emotion than the biology, unless it's crackfic like KSM.
I also seriously doubt that I'd be willing to write apocafic for SG-1. I won't even read it. I don't want my heroes to fail at protecting Earth. I don't particularly want to write apocafic for anything, but I can see situations where the possibility might be interesting to explore in some of my other fandoms. But not SG-1. SG-1 saves Earth. It's what they do. That's just the final word for me.
I also won't write pairings that clash with the pairings I truly love with all my heart. And those are pretty much Daniel/Vala and Sam/Jack. But I also won't write Max/Alec in Dark Angel, or unconventional pairings for Roswell, or Reed and Sue with anyone but each other in Fantastic Four, or Spider-Man with anyone but Mary Jane (unless I'm going back to before he married her, and Gwen or Felicia needs to be involved somehow) . . .
I'm loyal to canon pairings, basically. I only multiship in the Buffyverse, and there are all sorts of complex reasons for that, mostly based around the fact that we met our characters as teens, so they had all sorts of growing up and changing to do, and teenage relationships might turn out to be lifelong, but that's the exception rather than the rule, so an assortment of talented writers in the fandom have sold me on a bunch of possibilities there.
Then again, I have yet to write anything that violates Willow/Kennedy or Faith/Wood, which are my two favorite Buffyverse ships.
So yes, there's all sorts of really specific stuff I won't write. But overall there's a wide variety that's fair game. And I'm perfectly happy to have a Star Trek fic in which a theoretical cosmologist from the lower decks finds God right there on the same website where I posted my bloated dirty joke about Klingons.

b) Associate you with something - fandom, a song, a colour, a photo, etc.
I strongly associate you with red--although that's probably because your journal is red. Yes. I am brilliant. Thank you.
c) Tell you something I like about you.
Your awesome attention to the world and the fact that you share these things with us, your flist and make our lives much busier and more interesting places. Also, that you think seriously about important issues and aren't afraid to bring them up.
d) Tell you a memory I have of you.
Hmmm...this question is hard. Oh! I KNOW. Jack_built. And the prank war. *fans herself* We did some good work there, didn't we?
e) Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
Do you like wearing socks? (okay, I'm no good at the questions thing.)
f) Tell you my favorite user pic of yours.
I have to say your default. It's just...perfect.

That climbing icon! It tells me a lot about you--all of it good. This idea of reaching for something that looks impossible, the sense of simple beauty, and the adventure. Love it!
c) Tell you something I like about you.
Your incredibly thinky posts, of course. And the integration of fannishness with "real" life, which is something I absolutely do.
d) Tell you a memory I have of you.
Talking about my twin! I'm still amused by this idea. And the fannish class.:) I love the idea of all these hidden geeks, just waiting in the woodwork.
e) Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
Did you decide for or against d*Con this year? *is curious and doesn't remember if she heard one way or the other*
f) Tell you my favorite user pic of yours.
Well, besides the awesome climbing icon...I really think the D'Argo WTF one is just about perfect. Such a wonderful ep. *giggles*
