I just came across some really fun fic today, and I feel the need to share it. My life these past few days has consisted of 1) Watching House, season 3. Which I just finished last night. Sadly, I already knew what was coming, so the ending wasn't nearly as OMGWFT as people have insinuated it had to be, and 2) Work being boring and leading to fic reading.

Five things that never happened to dana scully, by [livejournal.com profile] threeguesses (X-Files, PG, with one f/f kiss).
This is one of the classic "Five Things," used to great effect in pointing out just the most subtle of changes that have a great impact on the whole story. Also, the style is lyrical and melancholy, and it just leaves me with that satisfied fic-feeling.

Intermezzo, by [livejournal.com profile] mrspollifax (Sam/Jack, PG).
[livejournal.com profile] mrspollifax has been very obliging in writing thoughtful, lovely fic since joining lj recently. This one is a post-Threads fic, nice and fluffy and warm-feeling, with outdoor (but on-Earth!) kissing and a passing mention of Jaffa politics. *grins* (She also has a Cassie "Five Things" that is just wonderful: Five times Cassie wished she was a child of Earth.)

Today, though, was a Bad Day. Plz to be getting better soon, yes?

I just read [livejournal.com profile] threeguesses's fic this morning . . . it was definitely beautiful. I was totally jealous of all the "What if?"-storylines it explored. I definitely second the rec. ;)

And I so second the [livejournal.com profile] mrspollifax rec. Everything by her is lovely. She uses language so beautifully.

It's really the Jaffa politics that makes it, lol! =) Thank you, you're very kind.

And I'm sorry you're having a bad day!

Yeah. It's totally jealousy-making.

Eh...my day has gotten better. Part of it is that my back has been hurting for a few days, and last night I did an awesome ninja roll off the top of a four-foot-high playground thing. No, I don't make a habit of this, nor am I athletically gifted. It was a matter of survival. I think it just sort of left my back worse off than it was.

You're very welcome!

Oh, *ouch*. Don't do that! Back injuries, they are no fun!

Though I laughed at your description, I admit - I'll just imagine you were off in your superhero identity, keeping playgrounds safe for kids everywhere!

Yay for awesome fic recs! (Seriously, is it time for the X-Files movie to come out yet?)

Boo for you having a bad day. :( I hope it's gotten a little better.
