holdouttrout: (team_shoes)
I may have purchased eight seasons of SG-1 today.

But if I did, they were totally on sale for $20/season, from their normal price of $35. And if I did, I've already opened it and am now watching (the original/long version of) Threads.

Am I crazy?

lol.

Is season 9 out yet?

I need that one.
$20 is a great price, I think mine were all like $50 or $60.

Season 9 is out, but it was still priced at $40. Unfortunately.

Oh, SG-1! I love thee so.

:)

Told you it was a good/bad idea.

Yeah, yeah. And it is the longer version, so I am thrilled!

Am I crazy?

You're asking the opinion of the other inmates? Of course you're crazy. Welcome! You're among friends.

Perfect icon. Yay! *hunts for ketchup*

Dude, that's a great price. So no. I'm a DVD freak. I think you're crazy for buying S8, but that's just because it's probably my least favorite season, hands down. But I'm backwards like that. Enjoy your glee!

I don't really mind it...and I'd rather have them all. ;-)

Crazy???? You may be, but you're my hero, anyway!!!

Yeah, having all the seasons is great and everything, but the really coolest part is that you chose Threads to watch first!

When it comes to that ep, I'd bet you $20 I'm a lot crazier than you! (It was the one that changed SG-1 from entertainment to an addiction.)

Have fun!

I was renting the discs, and I got to Threads only to find that...gasp! it was the shorter version! I felt robbed. :-) So that one had to come first...but I like it anyway.

Also, I'm not taking that bet. I know when not to get involved!

(I'm someone's hero!)

Crazy? My word for that would be "lucky"! Where'd you make such a score!

Very lucky. And it was at Fred Meyer (which is a semi-local dept. store chain, in case you don't know the store).

Nope. Unfortunately not one we have in these parts. :-)

Okay, and something else:

I think you should write the pirate challenge that you gave me. Because everytime I look at it, I want to write/read it so bad it hurts. But with two HSP individual challenges, the Feb challenge, and a couple of the memes lost, I don't know how soon I'll get to it. And it needs to be written. And written well. So you do it and make it awesome so that I can read it and do the "damn, I wish I'd written that" thing. :)

Okay, okay...if I must. *grin*

I feel so much better about buying three seasons in one week now.

But on sale! You can get away with buying anything if its on sale.

hah! I knew I couldn't be the only one. And...the trick to sale items is to say, "It's not how much you spend; it's how much you save." Then, things become a lot happier.

My justification has always been, 'Well I'm going to buy them all eventually, so why not get them now, when they're on sale? I won't find them any cheaper.'

And then I further justify it by saying it's my money, dammit, and I'll spend it how I want. *g*

I had still been deluding myself into thinking I wouldn't buy them...my conversation with my friend who was with me at the time went something like this:

Me: "Should I get them?"

Her: "Yes."

Me: "How many?"

Her: "Three."

Me: "Well, it only makes sense to get seasons 1-3."

Her: "But then you're missing four, and I thought you liked four."

(Which I do.)

Me: "Five makes an even $100."

Her: "But then you don't have the last three."

...or something that I translated to mean the same thing. ;-)
