I need fast-paced songs to walk to that have no lyrics, have fairly incomprehensible lyrics, or have lyrics in a foreign language that I will not be tempted to start singing to as I walk in the early morning. (Humming, unfortunately, will continue to be a risk, but that's my problem.) Preferably songs that evoke some kind of bad-assery, as in "Why yes, I DO know how to use this," or "Are you sure you want to try to take over the world while I'm still alive?" or "In fact, I AM the sexiest person in the universe."

I have a few songs like this in a playlist already, but I find myself needing more... any suggestions?

Hahaha.
All my suggestions at the moment are something like "you know that song there that they play one that movie?". I shall consult my workout playlist on my ipod this evening and give you a list. Something like Darude or Gypsy Kings would be a good place to start.

This has never stopped me from making up words and singing anyhow. ;)

Hee. It won't stop me in my car, but it might work in the gym... *grins*

Thanks for checking! (My iTunes is not here, either, so I'm unable to think of any specific example to help other people. *sighs*)

The soundtrack to Run Lola Run fits the bill, because it's in German! But very bad-assery and techno. :D

Um, Chemical Brothers might be another good choice. Or about half of the songs on The Saint soundtrack would work (the other half are kind of slow).

Oh! Yes--I do have Wish. I don't know if that's on my playlist, although I admit to making up horrendous nonsense words while singing it in my car to nothing.

Thank you--I'll check into the others.

I lied; the RLR soundtrack is mostly in English :( But! The original Matrix soundtrack has some good techno-y songs, though they are a little more metal/techno (i.e. Rammstein).

*now has Du Hast stuck in her head - hey, that one's in German!*

Also, when I work out, I sometimes like to listen to fast-paced Bollywood/Bellydance music, which is usually techno-y and not in English ("Beware of the Boys" by Panjabi Mc, or there's some good ones on the Bend it like Beckham soundtrack - Darshan, Hot Hot Hot, Punjabian)

I listen to the Run Lola Run soundtrack all the time, it's pretty amazing. Though, as with most techno-esque stuff, it tends to have very short lines, that are repeated a lot, which can pretty easily get stuck in my head.

Maybe that's just me, though. :)

Have you got 'Bawitdaba' by Kid Rock? I find it hard to stop exercising, when that appears on my mp3 player. Other than that, I have no recs that aren't pretty singable. :)

Ooooh. That's EXACTLY what I meant by bad-assery. YES. *marks for immediate download*

Or the Matrix soundtrack might be good. I used to have it, but I lost it at some point, but from what I recall it'd probably work.

I swear to God we share a brain, Pepper! :D *points up to my comment where I recommend The Matrix soundtrack*

Weirdness... I was about to post the link to Paul Oakenfold's "Dread Rock" from Matrix Reloaded, which I'll do anyway because it's kickin'!

How about Ramstein... I have no idea what they sing about but it sounds very bad ass. :)

I've got a workout playlist comprised entirely of Bond, which is sort of a techno-classical electric string quartet. Pretty awesome, and a lot of their stuff is nicely fast-paced.

Oooh. Good call. I like them a lot, but wouldn't necessarily have thought about them.

Lo Fidelity Allstars - some of their songs have lyrics, but they tend to get lost in all the electronica. I got some of their songs free from Amazon and they may still be available.

Belanova and Kinky - totally awesome Mexican dance pop.

Okay, I'm really curious about that now.

One must-have song comes to mind: "Hocus Pocus" by Focus. No lyrics, just guitars and yodeling. ;)

I also recommend the movie, but it's not really for the faint of heart/stomach in place.

Hee. I'll tell you, today was by far the hardest day thus far (out of the three I've gone). I was up way too late last night, and I definitely felt it this morning.

I like the Trans-Siberian Orchestra -- technically it's christmas music, but some of their pieces (notably, A Mad Russian's Christmas, and Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24) are awesomely energetic.
