I stayed up really late to watch the women's free skate last night, which was AMAZING. I am not a detailed commentor about skating--I watch it, I enjoy it, and then I try to figure out how I can go ice skating in the near future, and how in the HELL skaters manage to get airborne at all, let alone spin around while they're up there. That being said, I thought that all six of the routines in the final were a pleasure to watch.
Staying up that late made me nervous about today, but so far, so good! I am definitely tired, but I'll make it, and it was SO WORTH IT. (Although I do feel bad being an Average Jo and staying up just because it was on.)
Other things I learned from last night's Olympics: Skiing looks just as hard as it actually is, and is SCARY; those skiers who jump and then do flips in the air are INSANE and I can't believe their mamas let them do things like that; writing while watching the Olympics is hard.
But the thing that puts today firmly in the Good Day category is that when I got to work, I checked on something that needed to happen but wasn't a sure thing and was making me nervous, and it was DONE.
I may have done an actual victory lap around the office.
