holdouttrout: not your ordinary fish (Helen_smile)
I've been rather busy lately saving the world making Christmas cards (long, long story, but it's rather boring after you know that it was all my own fault), so while I've been watching Sanctuary, I haven't been talking about it much.

First, Fugue:

Overall, I liked it. I thought the concept was kinda fun, and the singing (mostly) made sense inside that concept. Honestly, the setup for the singing ameliorated the fact that the singing wasn't superb.

That being said, I still had to work up the nerve to watch said singing. There was a lot of IMing and breathing and pausing and water-getting.

Also, while I thought the video conference song was fun, I was confused about why it was there at all. It was the only singing that wasn't directed at Abby.

Speaking of Abby: I still love her. :-)

Second, Chimera:

Okay, this is the episode with Tesla that I wanted. Helen and Tesla together, with LOTS of innuendo from Tesla and LOTS of eye-rolling from Helen, with some delicious angst and a good villain.

Seriously, though, LOTS of innuendo. Even in a virtual world. I can't quite decide how much he means it. I honestly think he'd take her up on an offer, but... I'm pretty sure he doesn't really expect her to. Although they do, apparently, have Vienna in springtime. *g*

Hooking up the tiny bot instead of Will? Brilliant move, actually. *insert cruel remark about not being able to tell the difference here*

And of course Helen caught the tiny bot before it mind-sucked her. Hee! (I'm also glad that, in a way, this was her own fault. Though I do wonder why Tesla showed up when he did.)

My own personal answer about the question Tesla asks at the end? She'd save them both, of course.

Third, Acolyte:

Episodes that start with explosions get a positive mark right away in my book!

Also: KATE AND DECLAN make all episodes 100% more awesome. <3 Still not sure how I feel about her romance/engagement to what's-his-name, but whatever. I like seeing her and Helen doing their Action Hero stuff, even if they don't leap off buildings ALL the time. :-)

I really expected a side storyline with the Big Guy after he didn't check in, but I did not expect him to be (one of) the bad guy(s).

I think I'm actually quite pleased by this storyline, because I can ALWAYS use more Big Guy storylines. I'm not sure, at the end, that he isn't working for Helen Magnus this time, but... well, I'm hoping it all turns out okay regardless.

Yay!

*covers eyes for Acolyte spoilers*

HOW IS THERE NOT ALL THE FANFIC FOR VIENNA IN THE SPRINGTIME? SERIOUSLY! IT MAKES ME SAD.

I have yet to watch Fugue at all, on account of the singing, but I AM SO GLAD THAT ABBY IS AWESOME.

I know! There really ought to be Vienna in the Springtime fic. I wish I had time to write it.

You need someone to metaphorically hold your hand during Fugue. *nods*

It's really not so bad plot wise. I thought it was good for Will and Abby's character (and I am *NOT* a Will fan).

But yeah, AT is incredibly talented. One of those talents is NOT singing.

Hee! Well, she can't be good at *everything*, right?
