This is a compilation of the fics that I keep going back to, time and time again, for a shot of the stupid cute, be they funny, smutty, angsty, or crackalicious. Are we still saying -licious?

See? This is how nostalgic I'm getting!

Of course, these barely scratch the surface of all the fics I know, love, and re-read. I mean, it's really ridiculous how many are NOT on this list. But I have to go to bed sometime!

Angst
Rationale, by elly427. Rating: R
This is one of the most deliciously angsty Sam/Jack fics, and the first time I remember feeling vaguely guilty about a fic because of the Sam/Pete angle. It wouldn't be the last.

Nobody's Crying, by geneeste. Rating: Adult
One of the beautiful things about smutty Sam/Jack angst is this: "it's been coming for a while." Oh, yes.

The Art of Reincarnation, by surreallis. Rating: R
This is a post-ep for both Beneath the Surface AND the Light, and my note on the bookmark says "Remember to have chocolate on hand after reading this."

An Honest Transaction, by Wistful. Rating: Adult
This missing scene for 2010 has a somewhat misleading title... did I mention the vaguely guilty about reading fics with cheating thing?

Beneath the Stains of Time, by annerbhp. Rating: Mature
Annerb says this fic has "Adult themes, complex timelines, and apocalyptic tragedy," so of course I love it.

Plan C, by missparker. Rating: Mature
My notes for this one? "Oh, lord. So much angst. So much nice, torturous angst."

Stellar Drift, by rowan_d. Rating: Mature.
No one does angst like Rowan, and this fic in particular is awesome for being set around Company of Thieves.

All We Need of Hell, by surreallis. Rating: Adult
This is what darkfic is all about. It's messy, wrong, and totally hot.

After All, by Little Red. Rating: R
Sometimes I forget that Sam/Jack wouldn't, couldn't be easy. This fic doesn't let me fool myself.


Humor/Crackfic

The Shaft, by nandamai. Rating: PG-13
My favorite "stuck in a hole and horny" fic--especially since it starts out with bickering. I LOVE bickering.

Just Don't Eat the Cake, by Jojo (and everything else by her, too). Rating: PG-13
Jojo's a BIG part of the reason SG-1 got me so hard... especially this fic, which is about alien pastries and the resultant problems that come from eating them.

(Rarely) Pure And (Never) Simple, by pepper_field. Rating: PG-13
It's very, very rare that anyone can honestly rec this kind of fic--I don't want to ruin the surprise, but just... don't read this at work, and don't drink anything while reading.

Burning... Ears?, by lyssie. Rating: PG-13/R
Well, this is one of those fics that simply delights me with the absurdity of the situation. :-)


AUs

A Maneuvering Business, by daisycm83. Rating: 13+
Well, it's Jane Austen meets Stargate. What more needs to be said?

Weightless And Maybe, by anr. Rating: PG
Is Continuum fic technically AU? Well, anyway, Continuum! Sam/Jack! Angst! ♥


Straight Smut

Unlahfulliche in Lyhte, by pepper_field. Rating: R
It's always Daniel's fault. It's a good thing he's around to create these kind of problems, right?


Fluff

Past the Breakers and the Markers, by nandamai. Rating: PG-13.
I love me some stranded fic. Also fic where Sam and Jack sort of gradually allow themselves to relax and notice each other. This fic has some nice worldbuilding as a bonus.

Miscommunication, by Michelle V. Rating: PG-ish
Sometimes the same looks convey many meanings. Sam and Jack in Sam's lab. *grins*

Together, by splash_the_cat. Rating: PG
Are Sam and Jack really friends? Friends know things about each other... A totally cute and fluffy fic about traffic jams.

Meanwhile, Back at the Ranch, by mrspollifax. Rating: Kids
This is like the ultimate stupid-cute fic. EVER. I mean, there are casseroles!


I'm not quite sure what this category is

The Greatest Exception, by gabolange. Rating: PG-13
This fic has a little bit of everything, and it's all brilliant.

Magnificent Desolation, by abyssinia4077. Rating: PG
This is really more of a Sam and Jack fic rather than Sam/Jack, but it's so PERFECT it can't not go on this list.

Clarity, by ziparumpazoo. Rating: G
Sometimes, less is more. This is also not quite ship, but such a good look into one of the facets of their friendship.

I'm not good at remembering titles, but I did instantly recognize 3 favorites here: Miscommunication (so much fun!, The Shaft (ditto) and Magnificent Desolation, which is so wonderful.

I'm sure I've read all of these, but I'll have a good time going thru and rereading, too.

I love so much of Jojo's, including the one you chose, but I'd have picked the one I call "the cookie fic" but is actually entitled Whoops, I think.
