holdouttrout: not your ordinary fish (weather)
I finally got a cable to hook up my iPod to my car. This means I might actually

1) Listen to podcasts

2) Use the audio download feature my library has.

Yes, I am finally in the 21st century. Speaking of podcasts--anyone have any completely awesome ones to recommend?

There's not a lot more to tell about my life--the weather is getting nicer here, and that means allergies but also lots more daylight and outdoor time. Whee! This summer I plan to spend lots of weekend mornings walking in the beautiful sunshine.

omg YES...I am right there with you. And Apple? Not intuitive. And meant for 20-something singles w/o kids who have an over abundance of time on their hands!

All I listen to in the car anymore are podcasts (drive 300 miles every other weekend, ew). THE best by far is This American Life. Great story telling, nonfiction, fantastically produced. Maybe check out the top subscribed list on iTunes, it'll give you some idea of what's popular and give better descriptions than I will.

But some other really great ones to check out:
-Radiolab (science-y, very well produced)
-Planet Money (economics for everyone)
-Nerdist (dude talks to famous ppl, usually funny or at least interesting)
-The Moth (nonfiction story telling on stage)
-The Truth (fictional stories acted for radio)
-Freakonomics Radio(as seen in the books)

Only the newest episodes are free for This American Life, so subscribe (free to do too, just auto downloads for you and then you can listen whenever)(also, this week's was very good). All the back episodes for Radiolab are available to dl and they're free. Same for Planet Money and the others listed. Anyway, I'm a nerd, so idk if any of those are interesting to you, but I thought I'd pass them along. :)

Sweet! Thanks for the response. I'm familiar with The Moth and This American Life from NPR, but I'm glad to know they're in podcast form, too--that makes my life easier and more awesome!

I love How Stuff Works and I think Wait Wait Don't Tell Me can be downloaded as a podcast.
