I am not allowed to look at the s/j list unless I'm already in a good mood. There's nothing specific that set me off--just the general tone, and the feeling that at any moment, people who are probably perfectly nice irl were going to turn into rabid wolves online.
Damn you, spammers, phishing for my information and pretending to be Amazon. And photo-manipulation that magazine people lie about--sure, you didn't "slim" America Ferrera. Much. And what about the other changes you clearly made to the photo? I'm sorry, but necks don't tilt that way in real life, and skin looks...a lot more like skin than whatever that is.
People? Please stop assuming we want to see super-skinny people all the time. I like variety. I like real. I love real. I hate plastic-looking skin, fake tans, and eye-color-changing.
I love tan lines, the smell of sunscreen, badly-applied toenail polish, and windswept hair.
I love showers. I love sun, and rain, and my gigantic umbrella that I will be using shortly to take the mail to the post office at 3:30pm every day. I love that there's a motorcycle that takes up an entire, valuable parking space in my apartment complex. I love that I live five minutes from work.
I love my brother, who loves dancing, even though everyone teases him about it. I love my fandom, except when some of the fans are stupid. I love my new sparkly, happy shirt, even though I'm going to lazer tag tonight and it's clearly ridiculous for it.
I love flip-flops. I love that I ran a little, today, and I will run a little Sunday, and Tuesday, etc, until maybe I can run a whole mile without stopping for the first time in my life.
I love you, reader, because you put up with me and my crack!fic and my lack of apocafic and my lack of SW fic (yes, this means you, KR). (and Ivy. and Sticksy. and Others too numerous to mention). I love you, flist, because you are, mostly, sane-ish, and because you never get me down, except when you don't post, but that's mostly because it's Friday, and I understand. I really do.
I feel better now.
The second part of this post is much better than the first.
