Although, sadly, I was never able to participate in the festivities, my university's science departments always had a big ridiculous party for...
MOLE DAY!!!
...which happens to be today.
Some background information from the site above:
Celebrated annually on October 23 from 6:02 a.m. to 6:02 p.m., Mole Day commemorates Avogadro's Number (6.02 x 10^23), which is a basic measuring unit in chemistry. Mole Day was created as a way to foster interest in chemistry. Schools throughout the United States and around the world celebrate Mole Day with various activities related to chemistry and/or moles.
Mole Day always reminds me of a few things: How awesome numbers are, how crazy scientists are, and how I really did enjoy my high school chemistry class--even the math (but I'm weird like that).
In other, semi-related news, I watched "Big Bang Theory" last night. O.M.G. So hilarious. I have to say that I never thought of duet-playing as foreplay in quite that way before, although my friend A assures me that this is just because I am innocent and naive in the ways of cheap sitcom jokes.
Still love the stairwell--for some reason, it cracks me up that they use it as a set.
In a completely unrelated vein--hormones suck. I got all inappropriately weepy and weird. I'm sorry, but as good as "Bird Stealing Bread," by Jenn is (go read it now--Sam/Jack, Sam/Pete), it's not exactly the kind of thing I normally sob over. It's more the kind of thing that I sigh over and hope to approximate someday.
Oh. Also, I am eating oatmeal. Just thought y'all should know.
