Has it been one of those weeks? It sure feels like it--some of us have Really Bad Weather, others have work-related awfulness, and still others may not have had the best weeks in their personal lives.
I can't count the number of people I've talked to who are discussing the time-consuming nature of their lives, and who then moan about how they're supposed to be writing Some Big Fic. Okay, that's well and good, but isn't fanfic also supposed to be fun?
Anyway, I'm going to start a fic tree. The idea is simple. Someone writes a drabble (for today's purposes, this is between 100-500 words, even though I normally believe that drabbles are exactly 100 words, but that's a debate for another day). The next person builds off of it somehow. This can be a sequel, or more of a remix, or with a different pairing, or in a different fandom, or crossing over the story with another fandom--it's ALL FAIR GAME.
No rules, but here are some guidelines
1) Anyone can start at the top level. If you don't see anything that catches your attention, start a new thread and make something else happen.
2) Label your threads and responses with general warnings (ie fandoms, het, gen, slash, and if there's "adult" content).
3) Anyone is welcome to play. If you don't want to use your lj name, or don't have one, that's fine, too. I'll turn anonymous commenting on (although I'm leaving IPs to be registered--which I won't look at unless there's some sort of problem).
Don't wait for me to start it, either. I willwork on play with something, but I don't know what, yet, and I definitely don't have it written!
Have fun!
