angsty armageddon smut and mushroom clouds
Both of these have to do with my love for apocafic. I love love love looking at what-if scenarios that deal with the end of the world, and the opportunity for angsty sex that results from the characters losing everything--their world, support structure, place in society, rules, regs. Everything. It's really fascinating, and I never get tired of reading other people's take on it. Mushroom clouds, to me, is more about society and how people will be selfish and cruel, and how that impacts the end of the world, as it were.
diana wynne jones
Diana Wynne Jones writes amazing fantasy. Howl's Moving Castle was possibly the first book of hers I read--at least the first where I paid attention to the author, and I wish I'd done so sooner. She's an author I wish I'd known when I was back in middle school, because she has great twists on fairy tale cliches, and really interesting characters.
sam-and-vala-take-over-the-universe
If you hang out around my journal long enough, you start to notice that I love Sam and Vala. And Sam/Vala. Mostly I just think these two characters rock. Sam is, in one sense, the ultimate good girl with a wicked streak. Vala is the ultimate bad girl with a heart of gold. The reason I like the pairing so much is that they play off each other and complement each other's personalities really well. This is the first relationship I've portrayed a lot that isn't really portrayed much at all on-screen--in other words, it's based pretty much totally on their personalities and how I see them. Oh, and if they put their minds to it? They could totally take over the universe through sheer awesomeness.
teal'c/donuts
Uh. Good question. I'm pretty sure this started as an icon? Sometimes I add interests just because I think they're amusing, and this is one of those. :-) In order to talk more about it, I'll just say that I have gotten to the point where I could probably ship Teal'c with a brick wall, and that Sam/Teal'c is my favorite non-canon canon pairing, and that I want more Sam/Teal'c friendship. And yeah, that has nothing to do with donuts.
