First of all, it is 2009! Woot! It snowed again last night, and it's still clinging to the grass, but it's clear elsewhere. It's not nearly as frustrating this time around...yet.
I hung out with KR and her fam, and it was FABULOUS. We played Apples to Apples, were very silly, and then she forced me to start reading Breaking Dawn. No, really. FORCED. Really. I went to bed at 2:00am after begging her to let me stop reading.
Or maybe I just read it because I wanted to get it over with? Actually, I think my reaction is interesting. I already knew what was going to happen, so I was alternately bored and fascinated. Mostly fascinated by the wrong, but also by all the religious allusions and the sheer amount of psychological analysis one could make from some of the throwaway lines. I'm glad I read it (I finished it last night), but mostly just because I'd already read the other three. It really is that bad, and no, I don't recommend reading it.
Also, after we rang in the new year, I juggled and have *technically* finished my New Year's Resolution...even though in order to really say I can juggle, I ought to be able to do it for more than 15 catches.
getyourwordsout has begun! I didn't actually write anything yesterday, as I was too busy watching reruns (I hadn't seen) of Bones. Such a cute show. After that, I visited with my family and then came home, annoyed my roommates, and went to bed. Well, after I finished my book.
Oh, right. Writing. Today I decided I could write a better vampire novel than Meyer and started one. No, I'm not kidding. But I HAVE caught up and made my wordcount goal for today (1200 between yesterday and today). So that's something, right? Somebody stop me.
I seem to have found my tougher beta somewhere. I like her, and it's nice to have her back. As long as she doesn't interfere too much with my writing. :-)
I think I need a meme:
Tell me one thing about yourself that, at this very second, you think it's absolutely necessary I know.
I'll go first: I hate milk. I used to love it, and now can't stand it to the point where I have to consider if ice cream is really worth the milky taste. (It usually is.)
