This weekend was devoted to a dual purpose: relaxation from the trials of tax season, and preparation for my upcoming trip to the great white north with
annienau08.
Oddly enough, planning to not do much of anything led to a great deal getting done. (I wish it always worked that way.) I got a few things up in my room I've been wanting to get to--cork boards, a whiteboard, and tiny little shelves for Jack, Sam, Teal'c, Vala, Tony, Rogue, and an AT-AT. The AT-AT is the smallest of the bunch. *g*
I also got my oil changed, cleaned the inside of my car, and went to a birthday party, where I had red velvet cake for the first time, unless you count the "red velvet cake" I had at P.F. Changs. (Word of advice: NOT real red velvet cake.)
Still on the list of needed preparation:
Restaurant hunting for must-eat places.
Put together the essential sight-seeing list.
Do laundry.
Create and execute a packing list.
Watch latest episode of SGU. :-)
I've also been watching episodes of ST: DS9. The couple of eps I watched from First Season were laughably bad. Hilarious, really. But the rule about second seasons holds true. It's much better, and I'm getting all sorts of nostalgia watching these characters. Man. If I hadn't have had my family to obsess with, this might have been my first fandom. My mother and I made an actual bet about the last season... which I won, of course.
