Title: If I’d Known We Were Dating, I Would Have Baked a Cake
Fandom: Once Upon a Time
Pairing: Emma Swan/Regina Mills (Swan Queen)
Words: 6,800
Summary: Regina is completely unaware that she’s dating Emma Swan, even though Emma actually says the words “It’s a date” pretty early on.
Notes: There are, no joke, three separate meals described in this 6,800 word fic, plus a mention or eight of donuts. There is no cake. If you want the recipe for the entree Emma makes, it’s here: Seared Scallops With Snow Peas and Orange. My thanks to @shinewithalltheuntold, without whom this would not have a title or a summary.
Read it: AO3 or FFN
Bonus! Summaries I rejected:

Bonus! Summaries I rejected:
- If Regina had thought about it, she would have said that of the two of them, Emma was the one more likely to be seduced with food. She was wrong.
- In which Regina is sure Emma will lose a bet and completely unaware she’s already lost something herself. (It’s her heart.)
- Emma bets Regina that she can cook, and Regina falls in love with her before dessert.
- Regina subjects herself to Emma’s company for really good food, the smug satisfaction of being right, and the hope of Henry eating more balanced meals.
- Regina takes a sucker’s bet, is pleasantly surprised at the result, has the world turned upside-down on her, and manages to traumatize someone before breakfast.
- Can it really be called dating when only one of them knows they’re doing it?
