My recap of Bane goes up today at
redial_the_gate. I hope it's funneh and not completely boring. :-)
Yesterday I finally got around to nominating many, many fics for the First Annual Stargate Fluff Awards, put on by The Society for the Proliferation and Defense of Fluff. If there's one thing I love, it's fluff. I had to restrain myself from nominating even more fics. You, too, should nominate fics, if only so I *have* to read them when it comes time to vote.
Nominations are being accepted through March 21, and OMG is it easy to nomm. You have no excuse.
Er...I thought about doing an anonymous secrets comm (more for SG/other fandom than fandom_secrets), but the truth is, it seems like a lot of work. Would anyone be interested in an anonymous posting day in my journal instead? Or even in the comm I set up? It would be done in the comments, but I'm not sure that wouldn't lead to abuse. Guide me, flist!

Date: 2008-03-11 04:11 pm (UTC)From:For myself, I don't think I have any more fandom secrets - nothing that I desperately want to get off my chest, anyhow. I would be worried that the anonymous comments thing would lead to abuse - those secrets comms seem to have a lot of "I find so-and-so really annoying" type posts. Then again, it might be fine. *shrugs*
Yay for your Bane recap! I'm looking forward to it.

Balance. It's all about balance.
I hadn't even thought about spamming stuff except right before I posted this entry. Must think more.

Date: 2008-03-11 05:36 pm (UTC)From:I watched Bane yesterday in prep for Redial... I think it's only the second time I've watched that episode. I didn't remember it *at all*. So looking forward to your recap!
Maybe an anon posting day in your journal, rather than a comm? But yeah, Pepper's right - you might get a lot of "I hate X character," and that would be sad.

...Because, really, that sums it all up just beautifully! ;)
I looked at the Fluff Awards and hesitated, because other than sweet shippy stories I'm not sure what to nominate. Yes, I know it says gen is welcome, but what qualifies as fluff, exactly? How about Rigel's gorgeous image fic of Sam and Daniel friendship, "Scraps and Scribbles"? Or your own "Jack's brain on 200 crack" fic?
Clearly, I need help.
Regarding your anon meme suggestion: might I suggest starting with a flocked post first, with the caveat that you don't want "I hate X" posts? That's what Jenn did when she posted her guide to ships thing, way back when. She started with it flocked and when she saw that it was running smoothly, she unlocked it for all comers.

Date: 2008-03-11 07:36 pm (UTC)From:I actually submitted several stories that weren't ship. Either they were friendship, or gen or team. Some of them even had dashes of angst--I figured people could work through what they thought was the best representation of their ideal of fluff if I'd made a misstep.
Also: *blushes* Thank you for the compliment. Although I'm actually not sure which fic you mean. Hmmm...
Flocking solves a whole host of problems...I might just try that.

And thank you for the advice. Maybe I'll submit some noms, too.

Really, the blame's all mine. :)

Date: 2008-03-11 07:38 pm (UTC)From:I most certainly would be. I think it'd be opening a HUGE can of worms, though, so I'm hesitant.
