holdouttrout: not your ordinary fish (Default)
This is all Jenn's fault. She made me reveal my v. sekrit desire to make out inside a church sometime, and now I want a fic where [insert two [hot] characters here] have angsty, post-apocalyptic sex inside a church.

Is it can be done?

(Sorry, KR, this request would probably not be able to be done with SW. It's the church thing. Or the post-apocalyptic thing.)

Also: Ficathon? What ficathon?

It could TOTALLY be done! And the post-apocalyptic bit is a nice touch. Very primeval! And extra angst!

I just think that apocafic would be MUCH simpler logistically. :-)

(Also, angst makes me happy.)

I swear there was one....maybe from the darkficathon? With Daniel and Cam? I think?

Oooh! I'll have to seek it out later.

OMG do you have ANY idea how tempted I am to now write this impossible H/L fic?

DO IT!

My evil plan is working!

How random - I was talking to someone who was joint-planning church!sex fic - I said something about how thinking about fic whilst in church was pretty baaad, and they replied that it was worse than I knew, since the alter turns out to be the only feasibly comfortable place to shag.
Unfortunately, despite being SG authors, I believe it's original fic. Shame.

There is this, not quite fitting the bill, but still.

See, I grew up Baptist, so our altars...don't exist. But we usually have speaking podiums, which just...no. :-)

Thanks for the link!

There was one in the Voyager fandom that caused epic wank. Then again, it's the Voyager fandom, so thanking someone for making an icon can cause epic wank. You might want to consider possible offense that could be caused by such a thing. Anyway, might I suggest leaving the confessionals out of it, and not dressing anyone up like a priest. Or go for it, whatever.

*goes back to sleep*

I've both seen the fic in question and heard about the wank! Go me, I'm no longer a complete fandom noob!

:-)

I promise to leave confessionals well alone.

Ooh! Ooh! Me too, I want to have post apocalyptic sex in a church too! And I know another story that has this!! *waves hand in air*

Lady of the Forest has by Jennifer Roberson has a scene like that. It's a Robin Hood story with PTSD and women in it. That's an incredibly hot scene, all messed up and hot angsty lust and yeah.

It's classified as "historical fiction" but actually it's more like a glorified, well written, research-based romance novel. Whee.

Jennifer Roberson! I read the Sword Dancer series, but not the Sherwood ones. I'll have to check it out.

Whoo! Thank you.

I never read the Sword Dancer. Hell, I don't even know what else she wrote, the book was given to me by a friend. But now you've got me curious, I'll have to go look!

Sword Dancer has one of the most amazingly piggish, misogynistic, tough-guy heroes known to the fantasy genre (he learns better, of course). It also has an amazingly serious, capable, single-minded female lead, and some rather hit-me-over-the-head imagery. That I love. :-)

Sounds worth a look. I love to read about total assholes in fiction.

JR's Robin is just a messed up, PTSD-addled, fallen-aristocrat Crusades vet who wakes up screaming in Arabic.

I don't know what it says about me that, being a veteran of a similarly-located and more recent war, I still find that kinda hot. In fiction, anyway.

Now I want to write this for Mulder/Scully. There are just two problems: (1) I don't write smut; (2) I don't know what a church looks like.

Oops? ;)

I'm sure SOMEONE could work this out for Han/Leia. *Prods KR*

Ah, well, churches look like a lot of different things. A lot of the ones I went to look somewhat like schools. The not writing smut thing is harder to get around.

:-)

Churches look just like they do on TV. I suggest setting it in the *ruins* of a church so as to take liberties.

Mulder/Scully would be awesome, c'mon! ;)

Oh, hey, I just remembered I started such a fic, ages ago, when I was going through a brief phase of Van Helsing mania. Van Helsing was all about the churches. I don't think I finished it, and it wasn't very good.

Well, to be strictly accurate, it wasn't apocafic - but it was post-epic-fight, and there was a thunderstorm, so they had to take off their wet clothes. Come to think of it, I think there were surplices involved... man, I'm glad I didn't finish it. :D

There are always those unfinished fics you look back on, shake your head, and go "what was I thinking?"

Hee!

(Although, really, gratuitous taking off of wet clothes is always good, in my opinion.)

I don't know many people who know of them.. And sadly I'm not up to the smut-writing level (yet) so that's out for now.. :(
Maybe someone else'll pick it up..
