Dog-sitting, it turns out, is an excellent way to lose any kind of social life. It's very inconvenient to have to run home, take the beasts for a quick walk in a slight drizzle, and then have to get ready to go out... much easier to just watch TV instead.

It's also great for laundry.

Tonight I plan to catch up on Leverage, but in the meantime, I've been watching things!

Real Life, Including Vague Christmassy Things
Okay, so I know most people get really busy this time of year, so I'm not actually surprised about that. What I am surprised about is that this has meant practically no online time. I think that's more of a reflection of my priorities than it is any actual time--though since I've been working out early, that cuts into my later evening time, too.

Last night was our work Christmas dinner, which was good but not as good as I hoped--it was a really fancy Italian restaurant, but most of it wasn't quite to my taste. I enjoyed everything a little, but not as much as I wanted. Except for the dessert, which was called Cimabue--chocolate and hazelnuts and cream. SO yummy.

Digital Cameras and the manuals that help you make them work
So I have a digital camera. I've been using it as a point-and-shoot camera, which it is, mostly, but today I found the manuals for it. I still don't have any idea what I'm doing, but I can make it do stuff now! Stuff that made pictures of my dining room turn out better! Yay! (Now I just need to replicate said results.) I'm hoping this will mean decent pictures for my trip to London.

Babylon 5
I finished season four, which was awesomesauce. spoilers )

Stargate Universe:
So. It's canceled. I'm really not sure what I think. It's Stargate, so even though it didn't ping for me, I somewhat enjoyed it. Except for the characters I wanted to toss out an airlock (Most of them, at one point or another, but mainly Rush and Young).

I have to catch up on: Sanctuary, Fringe, Leverage. Eeps.

I'm a little bit unsure where to even start. I've watched so much in such a short time that I know I can't do any of it justice. I guess I'll just jump in and see where the squee takes me.

Ivanova first! )

This is a very short post, but since many of you haven't seen B5, I suppose we still need spoiler cuts )

Okay, I feel very bad that the plot or dramatic or political or religious themes aren't what's prompting this post. No, no. A shipper I began, and a shipper I must stay, it seems.

Sanctuary 03x08 For King and Country spoilers )

I have to confess I've 1) never seen Babylon 5 before and 2) Am now obsessively watching it.* The first few eps were rough--along the same lines as the first few episodes of Stargate SG-1, a little painful.

But the PLANNING. It's really amazing to me how much forethought goes into some of the tiniest details. I've already seen this go awry, but I deeply admire the effort.

I'm just starting the third season. spoilers so far )

*This obsessive watch brought to you by yet another round of being sick. Thankfully, I was on vacation this time around. *headdesk*

One more thing, that you've probably already seen but made me incredibly happy this morning: They Fight Crime!
