holdouttrout: (Skeptic)
My question, brought on by boredom and a leftover cupcake from yesterday's birthday celebration, is this:

Would Jack count cupcakes as cake?

Because they really are cake, in one sense, but...they're cupcakes. I never think of cake and cupcakes as essentially the same thing, even though they are.

Right?

And now I've decided I want cake-themed fic. *trundles off to search the web*

Okay, so this post makes me look crazy, too, but trust me, the other one was crazier.

ETA: Wait! Have a couple of sweets before you go. I'll share! I'm nice!

A Stargate-Themed Wedding Cake.
[livejournal.com profile] aurora_novarum wrote What Would Jack Do? (A series of ficlets) that mentions cake. A lot. *grins*
[livejournal.com profile] aurora_novarum also wrote The Lollipop Guild, which ALSO mentions cake.
Jojo wrote Just Don't Eat the Cake, which is Sam/Jack under the influence of really delicious pastry, and one of the most hilarious fics EVER.

And this one doesn't make you look crazy?

Cupcakes and cake are the same thing. One is just portable and doesn't require utensils. And stuff. (Much easier to smuggle into certain astrophysicist's labs as well.)

Why did I let you get me talking about this? Lol.

Hey! I totally mentioned that this post was crazy, too. Or did I make that type too tiny?

Now that I've got you talking... why not try writing? Because smuggling cupcakes into astrophysicist's labs sounds like fun...

I am writing fasting. You know, like the idea that if you fast before Thanksgiving you can eat more when that marathon comes along. Only I'm doing it with writing and for NaNo. Though I should probably write a cheat sheet with all the characters' names and such. My protagonist sadly still has no name. Time to skim the spam email folder for names again, I suppose.

I don't have any names yet, either. I need to work on that, I think.

Well, here are the ones from my spam folder:
Tad Wray
Valery Mayovich
Leonid Vladislavovich
Avvakuum Semenovich
Jacklyn Ellis
Joseph Konstantinovich
Nastya V.

Those sound like reasonably scifi-y names, right? Lol

Hee! Yeah, they do. Too bad I'm writing fantasy this year...

Are you going with the sci-fi idea, then?

Date: 2009-10-23 07:22 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] annerbhp.livejournal.com
Yeah, scifi. In so much as it takes place on a space station. God, I'm so much less confident this year after last year's implosion. Eep!

"Nastya" sounds like the perfect name for a villain, no? Snerk.
