The last day! (Although pictures may follow, and one part will be expanded down the line).

Really, I didn't do that much Monday. We woke up, packed, stowed our suitcases in the nifty suit-case-storing hallway, and went straight over to the line for the 10:00 Stargate Mega Panel. Which was, in a word, Awesome. Totally redeemed the entire experience. There seemed to be a lot more energy, and the moderator mostly stayed out of it, thank goodness. I think most of the lj-ers went ahead and attended, even though we were all wary after Sunday's panel.

Specific moments: Zat gun imitations. Chris Judge learning about furries. Lexa Doig showing her fan-cred (it seems she watches a lot more stuff than the others). Jason Momoa trying to fall asleep and being annoyed at having to think that early in the morning.

After the panel, we all sort of dissipated, and I'm still a little sad I didn't really get to say goodbye to everyone who was there. Still, maybe that's for the best--we can all pretend we never really went anywhere. :-)

[livejournal.com profile] splash_the_cat and I went to grab something to eat, and we discussed various aspects of shipping, fandom, and ficcing. May I just say, people who know her online, that she really is that cool? And we decided to meet up at 2:00 to head out to the airport--I really wanted a travel buddy, and she was kind enough to let me tag along.

So, in between when we left lunch, to when we met, I went to the Walk of Fame to get two autographs. One from David Weber for my father (we're all ridiculously big fans of Honor Harrington, but he's especially fond of Weber's books), and one from Claudia Black for me-eeee!

I had to dash over to the vendor area to buy a book for Weber to sign, which I did--and I'm glad I saw the area, because it was actually a lot of fun, though I'm glad I didn't try to go any other day, as it was horrendously crowded. Weber was pretty decent, although he didn't say much to me. He might have talked himself out talking to the girl right in front of me, though. And I was pretty tired/shy, so...

Claudia was distracted, too, but that was perfectly okay with me, as if she'd actually said something leading back I would have possibly started gushing, and I just couldn't have that. ;-P But really, I didn't like the publicist. She was in such a rush every time I saw her! And she totally broke up a conversation Alexis Cruz was having with a fan right in front of me. Which maybe is her job, but I'm pretty sure Cruz wasn't complaining. *shrugs*

But I got my autographs, so I was happy.

I met Julie, we went to the airport, and parted ways at my ticket area. I got an earlier flight (totally worth the extra money, in my opinion), and wandered through security (which was a breeze), and down into the connecting walkway/place with the airport train thing. I was going to walk (there's a point to this story, I swear), but realized that I was being insane, and that I should just take the damn train that was Right There anyway, and so I hopped onto the car closest to me. I'm going to call Julie, to see if she can meet up or something, and I pull open my phone, turn, and Right Across From Me is...Jason Momoa.

He, ladies (and possibly gentlemen), is so. freaking. hot. He's even hotter up close. And he was, indeed, wearing his glasses.

Anyway, I paused, looked away, realized that 1) my phone has a camera and 2) I had, some months ago, muted the stupid shutter sound it makes and 3) I was already pointing the damn phone at him.

So I took a picture, pretending I was texting.

*is smug that she had a picture of Jason Momoa on her phone*

Anyway, I got off the train, really cool, dragged myself to the escalator, thought about getting out my phone again to call Julie and squee, and then...

threw a quick look over my shoulder.

And He Was Right Behind Me. Again.

I smiled. He smiled back, and I turned around and tried my best not to freak out or snicker or anything. I succeeded, got off the escalator, and lost sight of him in the general melee.

Then I called Julie and left her a very excited message.

:-D

The flight back was long, dull, and long. And long. But my bf was there to take me to take him to dinner, and then he took me back home, where I crash in my own bed, not wanting to think about the pile of laundry I have yet to do.

And that was Dragon*Con.

Except for the parts I left out. And the pictures. Which I will hopefully have some up sometime. When, you know, I figure out my camera.

I just want to say, to everyone I met--you are all amazing. I can't tell you guys how much fun I had, or how many people I've bored since returning home about how friendly you were, or how awesome, or how entertaining (all in good ways, I promise), and how I wish that we could just all get together a lot more often. I haven't even touched on most of the wonderful conversations I had with most of you, and I know [livejournal.com profile] beanpot is wondering why, when she spent so much time with me, she didn't even hardly make it into the summaries. (She is, by the way, very cool, and very patient with people who can't find their way around hotels). And [livejournal.com profile] likethesun2 and [livejournal.com profile] abyssinia4077 are all upset because they like, totally put up with rooming with me, too.

All that to say--you guys rock.

Except for [livejournal.com profile] annerbhp, because she doesn't like fannish ponies.

Actually, my little snugglebunny, I'm wondering why you haven't photo-texted said pic of JM to my phone. :)

Awesome. So, so, so cool. Also -you were the one you figured out how to get around the hotels, I just followed around like a puppy. Except when I didn't and saw Paul McGillion - who is also oh so hot. (and does nothing for me on the show).

OMG, UP-CLOSE JASON MOMOA. How did you not faint from teh hotness? Sweet Jeebus, that is an *awesome* story. I am insanely jealous so happy for you!

Were it me in that situation, the message Julie would have received would have gone something like this: Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! Eeeee! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! And other senseless, high-pitched, dolphin noises. So, you know, probably a good thing it was you ;)

I think, quite honestly, that I was just too surprised to faint. He is so, so hot. And Julie nearly got a message just like that--that would have been when I was on the escalator. Thankfully, my sixth sense was working for me.

;-)

Yes, ma'am. I'll certainly do my best. I just...have to get them off the camera. I have videos, too. Actually, more video than anything else.

HOLY HELL JASON MOMOA!!!!!

AND BRENT SPINER TO START!

You had the BEST convention ever! WOW!

(I tried calling you guys to say good-bye, but I missed you :( )

HOLY HELL! I'm still flipping out about you getting that. How did you survive? Wow.

You had the BEST convention ever! WOW!

I did. I can't decide what made it the best ever--the panels, the sightings, or the people.

Probably meeting all the people. Definitely. Because you all rocked, hard core.

Dude, that is SO COOL. And I'm surprised he could even walk after how much he had to drink all weekend.

You were awesome to room with, all of you. Especially because you let me sleep in! Everyone else in my life seems to feel the need to wake me up in the morning, which is so counterintuitive. :)

I'm surprised he could even walk after how much he had to drink all weekend.

He actually looked fairly sober. I mean, really. I thought about that, too, later, but he seemed perfectly not drunk.

Sleeping in is good! I, at least, was merely jealous of your abilities in that regard. Besides--it's con! No need to wake up if you don't *want* to wake up.

YOU SAW JASON MAMOA UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL ON THE TRAIN???!!??? How lucky you are!! Dang, I would've melted into a puddle of goo right there, but you kept your wits and took a picture and didn't faint or squee or act like a rabid fan girl. You are made of more awesome awesomeness.

I loved meeting everyone and hanging out and being all the fan girl. It was the best blind date I've ever had. I wish y'all could all come down to my house and hang out every weekend.

I wish y'all could all come down to my house and hang out every weekend.

*sighs wistfully* Yeah.

I knew I had to shore up the reputation of all fangirls everywhere by not acting like an idiot. I mostly succeeded.

:-)

(I don't know why I don't have a Jason Momoa icon. Why?)

Oh. My. Goodness. *is so jealous* I want to see Jason up close! That is so incredibly awesome and I'm happy for you, but I want him to smile at meeeeee!

*goes to whine elsewhere so as to spare you*

*feels bad*

Man, you had to go abd say nice things about me. How am I supposed to defriend you now? Wank-ruiner!

You could still take issue with my lurve of fannish ponies.

But really--I'm just too dang honest. Honestly may or may not be good for wank. Your mileage may vary. See associates for details.
