holdouttrout: not your ordinary fish (oops)
So...I volunteered over at [livejournal.com profile] stargateficrec for January, and I'm wondering why in the world I'd do a thing like that. And then I realized this meant that I'd have to re-read lots of Sam/Jack fic and maybe even find some new stuff. Oh, darn. ;-)

In other news, [livejournal.com profile] abyssinia4077 and [livejournal.com profile] pepper_field have told me--at separate times--how they have ficathons hanging over their head from last year and just want to get it done. Which is pretty much how I feel about [livejournal.com profile] apocalypse_kree. It's SAM/JACK APOCAFIC and I haven't finished it. Which seems pretty pathetic.

I also have a SW fic that KR is *dying* for me to finish, if only because she thinks there will, at some point, be secks in the story, which she'd probably wrong about, if only because it's totally first-person Han, and something about first-person secks still squicks me. That last sentence there? Probably FLW. (Famous Last Words). But it's a really fun little noir detective story, and I'm anxious for it to be finished and have a plot, and all sorts of internal contradictions. :-D

YAY!
And you do it because reccing is Fun and Addictive!
w00t!

I think we're all pathetic about the apocalypse. I'm thinking a finish-thingy is in order.
(I mean, one of my two attempts has almost 12,000 words. Theoretically with that commitment I could actually finish the thing.)

Oh, I KNOW. My fic is decently long, too--and there really isn't that much left to do, in the grand scheme of things. I only have to re-write about half of it...

;-)

Surreallis has just mentioned in my lj that she still needs to finish her reel_sg1 fic - which makes me feel a little better about my apocafic. *g*

Although I have to finish my reel_sg1 fic AS WELL. Curses.

Reading lots of Sam/Jack - ah, it's a hard life, eh? These roundups should help reccers track the stuff down, too.

Oh, the pain and torture of reading Sam/Jack. I mean, if they let me rec it. Which...I think they will?

What was your ree_sg1 movie? Or are you not supposed to say...?

Oh, I signed up publicly - it's a crossover with Labyrinth. I had to get in quick to get that movie first, too. *g*

That's right! I remember hearing that now...

*gives off must write vibes*

The key to writing first person pov sex is to describe almost none of the action. Lots of "I feel" and "she's just so darn hot with the light filtering in from the window" and "I can't even breathe" type of commentary, and dialogue, and absolutely none of the tab A slot B type of stuff.

*whistles with great nonchalance*

That makes the most sense of anything I've heard. Still...it's Han. We'll see.
