Had the best time with @ussjellyfish and @liberalmasochist at Chicago OUAT con. Couldn’t ask for better roommates. They teased me appropriately for going to the wrong hotel when I first got into Chicago (look, it has the same name as the one we stayed at and the website doesn’t mention it at ALL so I think it’s an understandable mistake). They also totally got me drunk on Saturday night before the concert and then laughed at me, which was nice of them, don’t you think???

They mostly made me be the adult the rest of the time and I managed to get us to panels more or less on time and everyone got their photo ops and autographs so I think I did okay.

 1. To get to Silly O'clock, you almost always have to pass through the dreaded Pizza Decision O'clock, a tester of the bonds of friendship and sharing a room at a con.

2. The Ghostbusters extended edition is even funnier than the theater edition.

3. Cosplaying a popular and instantly recognizable character is the bomb and will make you feel good about yourself all day.

4. Damn, but there are some talented and dedicated artists out there.

5. Jennie Breeden, who draws and writes the Devil’s Panties (not satanic porn), is a delightful human being and only looked at me a little strangely when I showed up at her booth the third time.

6. Damn, but there are some talented and dedicated cosplayers out there.

7. People love cosplaying Leia. All variations of of her. (SO MANY LEIAS.)

8. Wigs are supposed to be tight and they will probably make your head hurt by the end of the day.

9. Even without a hoop skirt, going to the bathroom will a full petticoat can be an ordeal.

10. You can make ANYTHING out of Lego.

11. I may have to buy one of those fancy magnifying mirrors with a light around it because plucking my eyebrows has never been so easy.

12. You can customize your order at Taco Bell. (My friends thought it was hilarious that this had never occurred to me, especially since Taco Bell is literally the only fast food place where it hadn’t occurred to me. I agree with my friends.)

13. Seattle has a fair amount of hills.

14. There comes a time in the life of a suitcase, even a faithful green one, when it breaks and must be replaced.

15. Evangeline Lily is really just that beautiful.

16. I can apparently strike up a conversation with anyone as long as they have kids somewhere near them.
