That's right--for a limited time only, you too can browse our lovely prompts and write holiday-themed Stargate fic!

Just click on over and fill those long, tedius, end-of-the-year hours with something that will make you and everyone who reads it smile! Prompts still available through Jan 1, 2008, so you can start the year off right!

Remember: any prompt may be used for any holiday you wish (unless specified).

Me, I'm gonna mosey on over and pick me up some Sam/Thor*. Okay, so there isn't any Sam/Thor prompt. But there is a whole swath of "anything goes" prompts, so there's NO EXCUSE.

*Author's muse reserves the right to not inspire Sam/Thor or any other unspecified pairing/prompt.

EDIT FOR DRIVE-BY REC: Stories of Murder and Woe, by [profile] rhymer23 . It's death of SGA characters! In verse! GO READ! (Pepper, this means you).

In case you missed it, there are lots of holiday-themed prompts just waiting for people to write them. Come, let us adore you and your holiday fic! Comment fic, epic novels, crackfic, gen, romance...whatever floats your boat. Post will remain open for business until New Year's Day, giving you plenty of time to ignore friends and family and write fic.

Cliches welcome!

First of all, thank you to everyone who submitted prompts--yes, this is very fast turnaround, but I wanted to give people time before Christmas day to start writing.

Now that we have prompts, and they've been more or less organized (and wow to people who have done this before, and with more prompts), it's time to write!

You have a couple of different options:

1) Write comment fic and post it here.
2) Write longer fic and post a link to it here.

You should, in the subject line, indicate your pairing, prompt, and rating, like so: "Jack/Sara, technology, R."

There were a lot of single-character prompts, or prompts where there were a few characters specified, but without it being a pairing--these I'm assuming are open to any and all pairings, unless otherwise stated. I'm also assuming that any and all pairing prompts could be friendship fic instead. The muse goeth where it willeth, after all, and you never know when your smut scene is going to turn into a gen adventure fic that involves research of mythology and biology. /grumping

I'll hold this post open until New Year's Day.

You can direct questions to me here, so this post can be all sorts of fic goodness.

Onto the prompts!

Comment thread expansion is here at last! (sort of, and for paid members only, but this is still a huge step in the right direction.)

Yay for not having eight thread pages open on [livejournal.com profile] surreallis's journal anymore! You know you're with me!

Also, I'm still accepting prompts through sometime tomorrow for the Christmas (winter holiday)...Thing that I'm hosting. Go submit! You will be happy, too! Many of you have already given some great prompts, and my fingers are simply itching to write some holiday fic.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: [livejournal.com profile] abyssinia4077 is taking the logical, reasonable approach to the other part of the news post I missed.

*whimpers quietly*

I know, I know. I'm terribly uninclusive to fandom. But dude, I am in agreement with [livejournal.com profile] nandamai--we need SG-1 Christmas fic, stat!

I'm thinking that since we're already delving into the land of the cliche by doing Christmas fic, we ought to say that anything goes--terribly sappy romances, cute and fluffy gen pieces, angsty OT4, surreal Santa-stalking fic...yes?

So here's the game:

Comment here with an SG-1 Christmas (or other winter holiday) fic prompt. I'll hold this open until tomorrow, December 20, at about this same time. I'll post the full list, and then we can write them!

EDIT for lack of instruction on prompt submission: I don't really care how prompts are submitted, but [livejournal.com profile] surreallis reminded me that people like rules. ;-) So, for now, we go, "Pairing (if any), prompt, any other instructions." The prompt can be one word, a scenario, lyrics, a picture (oh, my poor html skillz, they suffer for you!), whatever.

All pairings, cliches, ratings allowed. Multiple prompt submissions and multiple stories based on the same prompt are allowed. Commentfic as well as longer fic is allowed--more details to follow in tomorrow's post!

I think it is simple and brilliant!

Tell me of any issues you see with the schedule and/or game, please.
